The platform is a flexible, multi-lingual, multi-currency application system developed by Takara Systems Inc.
The platform consists of the following major components:
The e-Forum System
The e-Forum System is the registry for storing, changing and retrieving Country, Industry Sector, Company and
individual users’ profiles. The information collected depends on the type of entity. For a person, the
information collected in the profile includes name, address, telephone number, email address, skills etc.
Company profiles include information such as the name of the company, the main contact person and contact
mechanisms (telephone, fax, email etc), products and services offered, financial records etc. For country
profiles, key economic indicators such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Gross National Income (GNI),
Foreign Direct Investments (FDI), population, population density, population, growth rate, transportation systems,
trade policies, and budget are collected.
The e-Forum System also manages the relationship between various entities (companies, countries, persons) and their registered end users.
The i-match System
In the AABF platform, a match exists when two or more parties can demonstrate a reasonable degree of compatibility
in terms of their industry, products and services offered, production processes as well as their focus and approaches
to marketing and distribution. This compatibility can be actual or potential, perceived or demonstrable.
The i-match System provides a mechanism whereby participating parties (companies, countries, independent consultants etc)
can discover new trading partners in a cost-effective manner. It is a flexible application system that uses the party
profiles in the e-Forum registry to facilitate the matching of one party’s needs to another party’s capacity. Activity
reports are created by the i-match system showing party matches, the criteria used for matching, and the values of the
parameters used to match the parties.
The Collaboration System
The Collaboration System provides parties registered on the AABF platform with an environment for private and public
online discussion forums so as to facilitate negotiations between business partners and potential business partners.
