WHY  PARTICIPATE?
In an increasingly open and competitive trading environment, most companies need to develop global marketing, technology and production alliances, to be successful. Enterprises in Africa and Asia are constantly seeking new sources of raw materials, technology and capital as well as new markets. Many do this by seeking out strategic partners through which they can leverage their key competencies for expansion and prosperity in their chosen line of business.

The selection of an international business partner is usually a lengthy, painstaking and often frustrating process. The Africa-Asia Business Forum aims to facilitate this process for eligible participating firms from Africa and Asia, in the context of South-South cooperation by doing the following:

  • Providing opportunities for networking amongst business executives from the two regions, through formal and informal encounters during the Forum
  • Providing credibility among participating firms through the use of verification audits profiling the firms' present activities, strategic business objectives and desired linkages, so as to enhance understanding between potential counterparts prior to a meeting
  • Effectively matching compatible firms using information collected from the firms themselves and scheduling meetings between matched parties
  • Providing support services during the negotiation process to enhance chances of successfully finding a beneficial negotiated settlement between the parties. These services include professional translation, legal, financial, accounting, logistics and negotiation advisory services.
  • Inviting major African and international banks interested in financing African-Asian joint business ventures

If your firm has seriously been contemplating the development of investment and trade linkages with companies from the other region, then participating in the AABF will be an excellent way to achieve this goal.
